When Dottie Lewis was an undergraduate at Westhampton College in the 1950s, men lived on the northern side of Westhampton Lake and women lived on the southern side.
Free tuition anyone ... anyone? The Richmond Rowdies will be giving away one semester of free tuition as part of a pep rally during the opening day of basketball season in November.
During this week's Westhampton College Student Government meeting, held in the North Court Reception Room, senators encouraged freshmen to run for WCGA senate positions or for class of 2012 president. All positions for the class of 2011 are filled, but three 2010 Senate spots are open for juniors.
[gallery]Whether the outcome of the November Presidential election comes down to the 13 Electoral College votes of the Commonwealth of Virginia or not, the voters in this state are poised to make history -- and perhaps in more than one way. While not the most coveted voting bloc, the Youth Vote could tilt the balance in the state that has not voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since LBJ in 1964.
The Westhampton College Government Association met Wednesday evening in the North Court Reception Room and discussed meal plan changes and coming events, including the Ring Dance theme.

The Westhampton College Government Association met for its first meeting of the school year in the North Court reception room and learned about incoming students and discussed pcoming events and elections.
While the Cheez-Its box was being passed around the room, the Richmond College Student Government Association had its first meeting of the year where the members discussed student concerns, coming events and issues on which the different councils are focusing.

The Westhampton College Government Association gathered for its last meeting of the year yesterday to discuss final student events, the induction of new cabinet members and lingering student concerns in the Tyler Haynes Commons.
Richmond College senators passed their budget and $126,986 in allocations for campus organizations on Wednesday night during the last Richmond College Student Government Association meeting of the year in the Whitehurst Living Room.

The university faculty is considering whether to develop a race and ethnicities major to increase the University of Richmond's commitment to diversity.
