Behind The Syllabus: Jeni Burnette

What do you do on the weekends?

I like to run and bike and go for hikes when possible. I spend time with my son, Jack, who is one year old and husband, Jeff. I also love to read a good novel.

What's the craziest thing you did when you were in college?

Skydiving.

What's one thing your students would never guess about you?

I love to mountaineer and have been hiking or climbing on all the continents but Antarctica.

What's your favorite college memory?

Hmm - two come to mind. Winning my first NCAA tennis match at the national tournament and meeting my husband for the first time at Lake Tahoe New Year's 2000.

If you could take a year off, what would you do?

Travel around the world, hike to Everest base camp, climb Kilamanjaro and perhaps hike the Pacific Crest Trail.
