• Remember last year when students were complaining that 1,600 seats in the student section of Robins Stadium weren't enough? Well, for this week's game against James Madison University, less than 1,000 student tickets were claimed. Don't be surprised if you see more purple than red in the stands at this week's game. JMU fans may look like Barney, but at least they show up their home games.

• The San Francisco Giants defeated the Texas Rangers in game five of the World Series to clinch their first championship since 1954. Many experts picked Texas to win the series, but the Rangers hit like they were blindfolded at the plate. The team averaged .190 in the five games and were outscored 29-12.

• Randy Moss was put on waivers on Tuesday by the Minnesota Vikings only a month after the New England Patriots traded him for a third-round draft pick. Moss, who is not known for his people skills, reportedly rubbed his teammates the wrong way during a team dinner. "What the [expletive]? Who ordered this crap? I wouldn't feed this to my dog," Moss said, according to a player who witnessed the incident. This begs a question - can we feed Moss to Michael Vick's dogs?

• Tiger Woods lost his No. 1 golf ranking to Lee Westwood this week, a position Woods held for 281 consecutive weeks. Woods, who is now ranked No. 2 in the world, said, "In order (to stay No. 1) you have to win and I didn't win this year." Not factored into the ranking -- the number of women Tiger has slept with. He's No. 2 in that category as well, right behind Wilt Chamberlain.
