Media Timeout: 1/27/2011

• New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez will now be known as "Dirty" Sanchez. In the fourth quarter of Sunday's AFC Championship game with his team trailing the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-19, Sanchez was relaxed -- maybe a little too relaxed. While on the sideline, a smiling Sanchez turned to Jets backup quarterback Mark Brunell, picked his nose and proceeded to wipe his findings on Brunell's jacket. Sanchez, 24, is one of the league's most successful young quarterbacks. But until he wins a championship, he needs to refrain from rubbing it in.

• More questionable aspects of Sunday's AFC Championship game. Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall covered teammate Ben Roethlisberger as the quarterback took a knee to run out the clock. Most viewers assumed that Mendenhall was trying to protect Big Ben from the chippy New York Jets players, but a video replay shows differently. In the video, Mendenhall can be seen humping the curled-up quarterback. Big Ben's reaction: It must be cold outside.

• Syracuse University men's basketball is synonymous with Big East conference dominance. Oh really? Even head coach Jim Boeheim couldn't bear to look up at the end of Tuesday night's 90-68 loss against Seton Hall. Instead, he stared at the court in the Carrier Dome, which bears his name. How is it that the No. 10 team has dropped three straight, including Tuesday night's game against a team that Richmond beat 69-61 in late December? It looks as if the Orange have been squeezed into juice early in Big East conference play.
