The defense won the annual spring football game, 54-23, Saturday afternoon. Special rules were in place that allowed the defense to score one point for a forced punt, a tackle for a loss or a broken-up pass; two points for a fourth-down stop, a sack or a two-point conversion stop; three points for a forced missed field goal, a forced three-and-out or a takeaway; and six points for scoring a touchdown. The scoring for offense was the same as a normal game, but it received one point for every first down.

His runner from in the lane was in-and-out and instead of only a one-point Temple lead, Richmond continued to trail 49-46. Richmond senior David Gonzalvez didn't even know what he just did. His 3-pointer with 5:36 left in the game gave the Spiders their first lead during the second half and propelled Richmond to a 60-56 victory over the University of Dayton on Thursday night at the Robins Center.
