The University of Richmond has many study-abroad partnerships with universities around the world. With the COVID-19 pandemic partially easing this fall, many exchange students were able to study at UR, and many UR students were able to study abroad.
Vaccination rates among children ages 5 to 11 are increasing steadily in Richmond and Henrico counties since the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention deemed the age group eligible to get vaccinated starting on Nov. 8.

The University of Richmond women’s basketball team defeated the University of Maryland East Shore Hawks in the Spiders’ home web at the E. Claiborne Robins Center Wednesday night, winning 69-59.
For University of Richmond students over the age of 21, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the age-specific perks nearby campus. Breweries are a great place to spend time with friends and unwind after a long school week, and there are plenty of choices with over 30 craft breweries, distilleries and cideries.
This past week marked the fourth annual University of Richmond Spiders Helping Spiders giving campaign. The funds raised are reserved for students to use during times of emergency or need and provide access to internships, job interviews or graduate school.
For many University of Richmond students, finding a place on campus that allows them to study and get their work done on a daily basis is usually an easy task thanks to the countless buildings, classrooms and facilities that provide a productive workspace environment and atmosphere. However, with finals rapidly approaching and the light of winter break just visible on the horizon, students are scrambling to find the perfect study spot to prepare for exams.

Junior Ahmed Elnaggar won first place in the Teen’s category of the Men’s Physique NPC East Coast Championship competition on Nov. 6. He also placed second in the True Novice Men’s Physique category and fifth in the Open Class C Men’s Physique category.

Andrew Gurka is serving as the interim director of the University of Richmond's Center for Student Involvement following the retirement of Alison Keller, according to an email sent to the campus community on Oct. 25.
Last year, the University of Richmond had to take drastic measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic on campus. One of these measures was to merge Thanksgiving break with winter break, causing most students to return home earlier and finish the last two weeks of the fall semester remotely.
The University of Richmond Naming Principles Commission issued an apology to students after a member of the Board of Trustees brought a student to tears during a listening session on Thursday afternoon. The incident began when a discussion about renaming turned into an argument about controversial remarks made by Rector Paul Queally last year.
