I set foot on campus for the first time in 2007; a gawky kid who wore Target-brand tube socks with sneakers and was blissfully unaware that, unlike his native Australia, America had not embraced jean shorts as a sensible, everyday fashion choice. The track team took me in, gave me a free T-shirt and called me "Aussie."

The question, "Is Hurricane Sandy a sign of climate change?" has a familiar refrain: isolated, single events cannot be tied to the climate, because climate is a region's typical, average weather over time.

As a Law School faculty member who has experience with both Gov. Kaine and Sherrie Harrington, I feel compelled to respond to the opinion column by Gray Delany.

They say character is defined by how you treat those who cannot do anything to help you. By this measure, in my experience with them, Tim Kaine and Sherrie Harrington exemplify those noble characters worthy of envy and praise.

My fellow teammates and I are up against a formidable force in our fight to reestablish our team on this wonderful campus.

The "Daddy Story" takes place in the Richmond "bubble," an imaginary world where leaders are exempt from accountability and dollars trump the truth. Enjoy!

Dear President Ayers:

After his term ended as the 70th governor of Virginia, Tim Kaine continued his lifelong dedication to education as a professor at University of Richmond. Before graduating last May from Richmond Law, I had the privilege of having Gov. Kaine as a professor. Anyone who has had the privilege of meeting him can appreciate that he is a true public servant. As a new lawyer, I am inspired by his work early in his career as a civil rights attorney, especially his work representing plaintiffs in cases of housing discrimination.

Earlier this year, the Associated Press reported on a study using Current Population Survey data provided by the Labor Department. It determined that 53.6 percent of bachelor's degree-holders under the age of 25 are either underemployed or jobless. The same study found that many of those who were underemployed were in positions that did not require a high school diploma, much less a bachelor's degree. If this does not scare your pants off after four years at the University of Richmond, then nothing will.

I support Barack Obama for many reasons, but I will only touch on a few of these reasons due to time constraints.

The Westhampton College dean's office staff debuted its "Midway to Mother's Day" campaign this week by selling red Camelback water bottles that students could purchase as gifts for their mothers in Tyler Haynes Commons.

Like all other Westhampton freshmen, I was informed about the changes to the Ring Dance tradition recently.

Those who know Jennifer Fog know that she doesn't often attend apartment parties (or, for that matter, use a pseudonym) And yet, I found myself in a UFA living room last Friday night trying to participate in an Anchorman drinking game and attempting to operate in an atmosphere that was so very "college-y." My distaste for cliches has always led me to dislike "college-y" experiences, at least outside the classroom. So I was relieved when a group of us took a taxi off-campus to Carytown for food and drinks. Always in a state of readiness for a review (even after a pre-game), Weezie's Kitchen on Cary Street was the perfect place to indulge in, as one of my companions put it "an anti-UR atmosphere."

The 7-Election Tour Bus visited the University of Richmond on Tuesday for "COFfree Day 2012," at which students received a free cup of coffee and cast their vote in the 7-Election poll.

The Board of Trustees' recent decision to eliminate the men's track and field and soccer programs from the Division I athletic offerings has sent the university community into an emotional whirlwind. As a former track and field and cross country student-athlete, I was not immune to feelings of anger and resentment, but the outpouring of support from across the nation has quickly turned those emotions into action.
