Two baseball players no longer at UR

Two of the three University of Richmond baseball players who were convicted of petty larceny and trespassing charges stemming from thefts last spring in Gray Court are no longer enrolled at Richmond. "The University of Richmond follows clear, established policies in determining academic and athletic eligibility," the athletic department said in a statement.

Andrew Luck: The richest first-year architect

Cam Newton's decision to enter the NFL Draft last week was no surprise. There was nothing left for him to accomplish during his senior year at Auburn University, except to perhaps become connected to his father's reported $180,000 pay-for-play scheme with Mississippi State University. Newton won't be leaving Auburn with a bachelor's degree in his major, social and behavioral sciences, but he owns a Heisman Trophy and a piece of national championship history. Newton led Auburn to a 14-0 season, throwing for 30 touchdowns and almost 3,000 yards.

Harper lifts Richmond to 69-61 victory over Seton Hall

Senior Justin Harper scored a season-high 24 points as Richmond defeated Seton Hall University, 69-61, Sunday afternoon at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The Spiders ended the game on a 14-2 run over the last 5:33 of the game after they had struggled to contain Seton Hall's size all game long.

Late run pushes Old Dominion over Richmond, 77-70

The University of Richmond held an eight-point lead with 9 minutes left against Old Dominion University, but the Monarchs went on a 15-5 run over the next five minutes to propel them to a 77-70 victory Wednesday night at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Kent Bazemore intercepted an inbound pass intended for Richmond's Kevin Anderson and took it the length of the court for a one-handed dunk to give the Monarchs a 63-61 and the lead for good. The Spiders' late-game comeback attempt fell just short as they pulled within four with 30 seconds left in the game after freshman Cedric Lindsay hit a 3-pointer.
