Richmond has two first-team all-conference selections for the third time in school history. Seniors Kevin Anderson and Justin Harper were named to the first team all-Atlantic 10 Conference team, while fellow senior Kevin Smith was named to the A-10 all-defensive team.

The last time the University of Richmond men's basketball team hosted the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, on Jan. 20, 2010, the 49ers won 71-59. The Spiders won their Atlantic-10 conference opener with the same score on Wednesday night in front of 4,231 spectators.
As if the University of Richmond men's basketball team needed to get any deeper, the return of senior forward Kevin Smith gave the Spiders a new dimension in their 82-71 victory against Charleston Southern University Sunday evening at the Robins Center.

The University of Richmond received 8,616 applications for the class of 2014, a record-breaking number up nearly 10 percent from last year, according to the Office of Undergraduate Admission. 2,856 students were accepted for an admission rate of 33 percent -- down from last year's admission rate of 39 percent. 819 students enrolled.

Six days and one easy win since entering the Associated Press Top 25, Richmond found itself in a tight game against George Washington University. The Spiders acted the part of a Top-25 team and was able to survive an upset bid by the Colonials and won 74-70, in front of 9,025 Saturday night at the Robins Center.
